Minimum Requirements:

- Active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection
Enhanced Features Require:
- Multicast networking support for Bonjour/mDNS discovery

LAN Scanner ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the LAN Scanner application available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
Information We DO NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or network data. Specifically:
- No network scan results are uploaded to any server
- No IP addresses, MAC addresses, or device names are collected
- No personal identification information is requested or stored
- No usage analytics or tracking data is collected
- No crash reports containing personal data are transmitted
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No third-party analytics services are integrated
Local Network Access
The App requires access to your local network to function. This permission is used exclusively for:
- Discovering devices on your local network
- Resolving device names using mDNS/Bonjour protocols
- Identifying device manufacturers from MAC addresses
All network scanning and analysis happens entirely on your device. No network data ever leaves your device.
Data Storage
Any data the App stores is kept locally on your device:
- Scan History: Previous scan results may be cached locally for your convenience
- Custom Names: Any custom device names you assign are stored only on your device
- Preferences: App settings and preferences are stored locally using standard iOS/macOS storage
This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to any external server or service.
Data Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. The App:
- Does not communicate with any external servers
- Does not integrate with social media platforms
- Does not include any advertising networks
- Does not use any third-party SDKs that collect data
iCloud Sync
If you use the App on multiple devices signed into the same iCloud account, your preferences and custom device names may sync between your devices using iCloud. This syncing:
- Uses Apple's encrypted iCloud service
- Is completely under your control via iOS/macOS Settings
- Can be disabled at any time in your device settings
Security
Since we don't collect any data, there is no risk of your personal information being compromised through our servers. All network scanning operations use standard iOS/macOS networking APIs and respect system-level security restrictions.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction). The App does not collect any information from any users of any age.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, there is no personal information for you to access, correct, or delete from our servers. You maintain complete control over any data stored locally on your device and can delete it at any time by:
- Deleting the App from your device
- Using the App's built-in data clearing options (if available)
- Resetting the App via iOS/macOS Settings
