What Camarun is

Camarun is a viewer for Frigate NVR, an open-source network video recorder that you run on your own hardware. The app displays live camera feeds and detection events from a Frigate server that you choose and control.

There is no Camarun service behind the app. The developer operates no backend, and no part of your video or configuration passes through developer-controlled infrastructure.

Information the app stores on your device

To connect to your server, Camarun saves the following locally on your device only:

• Server address — the URL of your Frigate instance, stored in the app's local settings.
• Username and password — optional, only if your Frigate server requires a login. These are stored in the iOS Keychain, the system's encrypted credential store.
• Certificate preference — whether you have chosen to trust a self-signed certificate for your server.

These values are used solely to open a connection to the server you specified. They are never transmitted to the developer or to any third party. Deleting the app removes them from your device.

Information the app transmits

Camarun communicates only with the Frigate server address you enter. Over that connection it requests your server's camera configuration, live video streams, detection events, event snapshots and recorded clips.

Video and images are displayed as they arrive and are not uploaded, copied or retained anywhere outside your device and your own server. If you choose to download a clip, it is saved to your device.

Information the app does not collect

• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage tracking.
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No contact details, location, contacts, photos or device identifiers.
• No account is created or required to use the app.
• No third-party SDKs are embedded in the app.

Your own server and network

Because Camarun talks directly to infrastructure you operate, the handling of the video and event data it displays is governed by your own Frigate configuration and by any network services you route the connection through, such as a VPN or reverse proxy. Those are outside the app's control and outside the scope of this policy.

If your cameras record other people, you are responsible for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply where those cameras are installed.

Children

Camarun is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected or processed by the developer, there is no stored data to access, correct, export or erase. Data held on your device is under your control and is removed when you delete the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes affecting how the app handles information will also be noted in the app's App Store release notes.
